Country Education Foundation of Port Lincoln

CEF Port Lincoln supports local youth to achieve their career aspirations through post-school education and training.

CEF Port Lincoln

Country Education Foundation of Port Lincoln was established to provide much needed financial assistance and support to local youth to help them achieve their post-high school education, training and vocation aspirations. We recognise that the cost of rural students pursuing their post high school goals is often much greater than those of their metropolitan counterparts and that sometimes these costs can be prohibitive.

CEF Port Lincoln fundraises throughout the year and accepts donations from local residents and businesses in order to provide financial grants to students who need an extra helping hand. The funds come directly from your local community – none of it is government funded – celebrating the aspirations of local youth and working to help them achieve these aspirations.

We love seeing our volunteers and their students out and about!

CEF Orange & Districts students, Lily and Alex, joined their buddy, Lyndall, at the Order of Australia Member, Central West NSW group at their meeting on Sunday. Lily and Alex answered questions about how CEF supports them, as students from regional areas, to engage in post school education. They mentioned the support they receive from CEF financially, as well as the emotional and practical help they receive from the CEF Orange & Districts’ buddy system.

Both students are enrolled at Charles Sturt University Bathurst with Lily in her first year of a Bachelor of Nursing and Alex in his second year of Bachelor of Education (K-12) PDHPE. Their CEF grants help pay for study resources and equipment. Most importantly, their funding also assists with students’ travel, accommodation and living expenses, all of which are significantly higher than what their metropolitan peers encounter.

We're pleased to report that the OAM group were impressed by the conversations had with these two outstanding students!

📢 Did you know? 3 in 4 CEF supported students must leave home to pursue further education? Yet, only 1 in 5 receive financial support from their families.

The cost of relocation is a major barrier—but together, we can help!

Thanks to her grants from CEF Grenfell, Heather was able to get a laptop, textbooks, stationery, and even help with accommodation costs, giving her the support she needed to focus on her studies. But our commitment goes beyond financial aid; it’s about a whole community standing behind every student!

Funds raised through the #cefbootbash will provide CEF students with increased direct financial support—helping to kick education inequity to the curb! 🎓

You can support the students by donating until 31st March. Visit cefbootbash.org.au

Boot Bash funds are supporting students like Carly take the 1,500km hike from her home town of Alice Springs to study in Adelaide.

“The transition of moving from my family’s home in Alice Springs to Adelaide was certainly a challenge but was made a lot easier with the support of the CEF grant. I managed my finances well with the funds from CEF. I have used the funds to put towards my living expenses, fuel and certificates and clearances I need for my course.

CEF are doing an incredible job in providing opportunities for young people like me. CEF has made support and guidance through my financial challenges as easy as possible.”

Donate and share your support for students, like Carly, at cefbootbash.org.au #cefbootbash
