Introducing Jada Hogg from Menindee, Far West NSW, who dreamed of studying nursing and returning to remote areas to help fill a critical skills shortage in health services. 🏥

Thanks to the support of our incredible partner, the McLean Foundation, we were able to offer Jada our McLean Foundation - CEF scholarship for 2024 to help her relocate over 1000km from home to @uow to complete her studies. 🛣️

It officially launched at an event at @portlincolnhighschool on Thursday 16th May.

It is undoubtedly clear that Katie Walker has had a remarkable influence on the educational outcomes of regional youth over the past two decades. 😍

Since 2003, Katie has witnessed thousands of students from across rural and regional Australia access post school education and employment through our grants and scholarships as one of our founding Board members. 📜

Katie made the decision to step down from our Board late last year, with her resignation made official at our AGM earlier this month.

While it is sad to see Katie depart our Board, she is still continuing on as Secretary of @cef_yassvalley, and will continue supporting many more students locally there for a while yet. 💪

Congratulations to our student, Taj Elliot, who has been announced as our 2024 @vertoau - CEF Indigenous Scholarship recipient! 😍

Taj, who is supported by Hastings Education Fund, is studying a Cert III in Electrotechnology at @tafensw Port Macquarie, NSW.

Needing to purchase tools and equipment for his course, we`re sure this money will go a long way to helping him and taking the financial pressure off! 💪

This scholarship, proudly supported by Verto, is awarded to one indigenous CEF-supported student each year studying in a VET course.

Our CEO, Wendy Mason, was delighted to attend the @uninewengland (UNE) Donor Luncheon at its campus in Armidale, NSW, on Friday 24th May. 🤩

Wendy enjoyed meeting and hearing from UNE Chancellor, Mr James Harris, and UNE Vice Chancellor and CEO, Professor Chris Moran, and celebrating the achievements of students supported through the UNE Foundation.

UNE has been a loyal partner for several years and helps by providing financial support to eligible CEF students each year. 🤝

Whether it’s helping with social media, taking photos, working on a barbeque or being a committee member, our alumni have shown volunteering for CEF is fun, engaging and rewarding by giving their time and capability to our local CEF foundations. 💪

Our volunteers are everything to us, and in recognition of @volunteeringaustralia National Volunteer Week this week, we`re celebrating how important our 430+ volunteers are. 😍

From his humble upbringing in Coonamble, western NSW, he was supported by @cefcoonamble which allowed him to complete his studies in education at @sydney_uni. 🤝

Now working as a teacher at @kinrosswolaroischool in Orange, NSW, he volunteers on the committee of @cef_orangeanddistrict. 💪
